USAF F-16C block 30 #85-1552 from the 149th FS is seen displaying nose art "Bear Necessities", while parked on the ramp at Richmond IAP in 1991. [Photo by Bill Campenni]
Drawing was a panda bear with a bomb under one arm and an AIM-9 missile under the other, with smaller details of a honey jar and bee. Assigned pilot was Lt. Col Bill Campenni, 192 FW Ops Group Commander, who carried along a scraggly stuffed panda bear for 20 years and over 3000 hours. Both bear and pilot are now in retirement in Virginia. Only two 149 FS F-16s had nose art.
