Colonel Gary North goes through preflight checks in 63rd FS F-16D #90-0778 prior to flying a training mission from Luke AFB. The green star on the aircraft represents the Iraqi MiG-25 that he shot down back on December 27th, 1993. Colenel Gary North became the first USAF pilot to achieve an aerial kill in an F-16 aircraft during Operation Southern Watch. Seen here he is back in the cockpit of this aircraft now at Luke AFB on March 11th, 1999 almost 6 years later. [USAF photo]
