This is an EJ200 flight test engine for a Tranche 2 airframe. The big box mounted on the fan case is The new DECMU which combines the engine mounted Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU) and the aircraft mounted Engine Monitoring Unit (EMU). The lack of VGV's and the direction of rotation are giveaways.

gun drive motor

The picture shows the gun drive motor forward of the B side Reservoir. The white tube is the connection to the leading edge flaps as the previous poster said.

fuel tank????

I think if you look closer, this is the gun/gun drum compartments. The two white lines you see to the left are ECS lines, and the two quick release pins are for the gun. and the small spline fitting on the right is part of the hydrualic motor that operates gun, it can be seen to the right, aft of the bulkhead, and the gun flip down door is below the spline which is opened.

Happy is right, ALL US F-16's have those, its right infront of the door that you can get access to open the canopy and hook up air from a C-10 or -60

I don't know what kind of pod that is on the right, but its not a navigation pod. The navigation pod has an antenna/radome in the spot where that pod seems to have an infrared sensor. It looks like some kind of sensors pod, but not an AAQ-13 Navigation pod.

It`s Correct that the RNoAF have the Pids on sta.3 It`s possibel to take out the dispenser assys and change what way you want to fire it. They also only use chaff in the pids. It`s also no problem to fire it into the aircraft, it does not make any damage. On sta. 7 they use a Ecips with a A-A ALQ, ALQ 162.

Angus

In The RNoAF the PIDS is used at station 3 and the WW pylon ALQ is at station 7. Someone who know why, because the flares would be fired inwards...

Yes, it is an A-model. Norway only has A and B-models, MLU M3 modified ones.
