My Jet!
I crewed 79-0423 from 1982-84. I desigen the 9th AF colors and painfully cut out and tapped the entire stencile art work in this photo. This aircraft took hours to keep up with. It had to be as clean and a Thunderbird without all the glory that the T-Birds get. When we transitioned to Block 25s at Shaw I received 83-1037 as my new jet. I flew to the factory and flew back to Shaw in the back seat.

If the serial number is the same, #92880 is the new Thunderbird #1 as the 'Birds are upgrading to the Blk 52 Vipers for the 09-10 Airshow season.

84-1250
Was the 84-1250 ever equipped with the AGM-88-HARM missile?

Should be OSW
Would think this an OSW mission, not OIF, as OIF began on March 20, 2003.

84-1250
Just working on some ERAU classwork & took a break, checking back into some 50TFW history. Having spent nearly 7 years (Nov 84 - Sep 91) at Hahn AB as an air traffic controller, I cleared the last 3 F-16's for takeoff as they were being transferred to the Kansas ANG.
I remember 84-1250 quite well. The "Commander's Jet", it always took first place honors at the EOR, and the Supervisors of Flying (SOFs) were always on edge in the air traffic control tower as it flew. Man, such a sentimental moment...
Thanks for the flashback!

AC 79-0415
I was the Crew Chief of the Station Wagon when It arrived at Tinker until I moved on in April 1992. She had a Pic. of a 1958 Plymouth Station Wagon on each hub cap on the main tires and Forms Bag.
I was glad to hear that Marty got the Jet when I transfered to the -135 program. The ol girl flew many VIP's in the back seat when she was mine from Federal Judges, State Senators to media folks and continued when she was Marty's. 415 servied us well. It saddens me to see her at AMARC.

Not a Tow Bar
At Nellis when the winds are going to be high, cargo stpas are used to lash the aircraft to the ramp. Thaose are cargo straps.

Tailnumber
According to the tail number it should be 80-0538 instead of 80-0537.
A little correction.

Original Crew Chief
I received this aircraft from the factory while stationed at Misawa AB Japan. First person to crew this amazing jet. Crew Chief was SSgt Palk with Capt White as pilot. I'm retired now but glad to see my old jet still performing as good as ever. We had all odd tail numbers from 85-1545 to 85-1573 in the 14th AMU and I have to brag and say this jet was definitely the best of the fleet. She's been TDY to Clark AB numerous times and well as Korea and Alaska during my tour. To all the CC's after me, thanks for a great job taking care of her. She looks good. Keep her flying!

Misawa Crew Chief
Crewed this plane at Misawa AB Japan from 87-90. Never had a major problem and usually flew code 1. Dedicated Pilot was Capt White, a great pilot and friend. It's funny to think I went from Macdill to Misawa and the plane went from Misawa to Macdill and my old squadron there. Glad to see it still performing. Still looks awesome!

crew chief of this plane
I was google searching for tail numbers of jets I used to crew and found this. I was the "3rd wipe" on this aircraft while it was assigned to Homestead AFB, Fl. The 309th FS "Wild Ducks". It was transferred to the guard about a year after I was assigned to it as we were converting to Block 40 C/D models. This was a great flying, well maintained plane.

crew chief
I was the "3rd wipe" on this jet at this time. I crewed it from 4/90 to it transferred to the guard about a year later. If I could zoom in, my name is on the nose gear door.

Preservation Agent - 1010 Oil
The "agent used to preserve the engine while it is in storage" is typically MIL-PRF-6081 (Formerly MIL-L-6081), lubricating oil, jet engine, Grade 1010.
While the engine is running at IDLE during it's final run prior to storage, the fuel supply is turned off while the 1010 oil supply is turned on. After the engine has run on the 1010 oil for the specified amount of time it is shut-down.
From this point on the engine is considered "pickled" or preserved.

I remember you Mike.
I crewed this jet in from 87-88 when it was transferred to the 313th along with MSgt Tony Brown. I probably took your place on the incentive rides while TDY in Spain. :) Man what a BLAST!! I cant remember the pilots name off the top of my head.

F-16A 0696
I crewed this jet in 1986 while stationed at Hahn AB, West Germany along with Terry Ward and it was the highest flying aircraft in the USAF inventory for 1986 or 1987, can't remember. The DCM was Colonel Pichesney (spelling error) and his number one was Chief Killian who congress brought out of retirement to fix Hahn's maintenance problems. The guy was nuts but got the job done.

That's not MacDill

That's not MacDill, must be an airshow somewhere. MacDill does not have a water tower like that.

The Block number on this F-16D should be Block 52, as the team is transferring to the upgraded 'Viper'. The S/N 91-0479 should have given that away!
