I was on that trip
The red circle on the tail is a t-shirt silk screen of a rams head with the words Alaskan Horny Critter. LOL That was one cold trip. I think the people were from the base newsletter and the Base Commander and family. A few days in we had engine blowout problems and had to wait for a C-130 to bring one from Edwards. Then we spent hours changing the engine instrumentation. -
F-16A at Eielson AFB, AK
I was stationed at Eielson as an Air Traffic Controller. We were allowed to go see the F-16A that was at Eielson for Cold Weather Testing. Since most of us had never seen an F-16 up close, this was a real opportunity not to be turned down! I was fortunate to have recently bought a Nikon FM film (remember film?) camera so I could take pictures of this bird. I digitized the prints recently and I was delighted to provide a copy to the F-16.net album for archiving.
