Turkey has approved a production agreement for the U.S.-led multinational effort to develop the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, following the lead of the Netherlands, Canada, Britain and Australia.

While other international JSF partners signed the production phase MoU for the F-35, the Norwegian approvals to continue their involvement seem to slip into 2007, while it considers rival bids like the Gripen N.

More than 400 service and community members had a chance to step into the future of Hill AFB during an F-35 Lightning II briefing and cockpit demonstration by Lockheed Martin on Feb. 21-23.

When the first F-35 rolls out in 2008, communications between pilot and aircraft will enter a new era thanks in part to testing and analysis conducted at the Air Force Research Laboratory's Human Effectiveness Directorate.
