Italian Air Force & Navy F-35s

The first F-35A for the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare Italiano) was flown for the first time at Cameri AB on September 7th, 2015. This aircraft (AM serial number MM7332, tail 32-01) was the first aircraft to be assembled at the Cameri Final Assembly and Check Out, or FACO, facility. Lockheed Martin F-35 test pilot Bill Gigliotti flew the aircraft. The one hour and twenty-two minute flight was the first for an F-35 assembled outside the United States and also marked the first F-35 flight in Europe. [Photo by Todd R. McQueen]
