Good Jet!
980 was a very good jet! I was fortunate to fly her in a Gunsmoke competition and had it not been for some moisture that affected the avionics and weapons release system, we might have had a shot at winning. The moisture was the result of a high pressure washing she had in cleaning her up for the competition. Before the washing, in one of our practice rounds at Gila Bend range, we had 6 shacks and in the high 90's in strafe.

The Base Realignment and Closure Commission directed the 184th FS to transfer out its F-16s for the A-10 Thunderbolt II. As of now all the F-16s are gone, mostly being delivered to the 194th FS, the California ANG.
