    Fiddler

The radome is like later block F-16s. When new the color is light grey but after some time it gets darker because the material absorbes dirt very easy. Block 1 have Black radomes. Regards

The "Dark Radome" you are refering to is actually just very dirty! Radomes are suppose to be the light gray!

    RADOM

The Radom is normal color for the block it was. The photo shows the aircraft in a XC (cross country) configuration. The radom is not to be painted so it was made from a material that was darker than the faded paint used. Aircraft are washed frequently and other than the 20MM gun residue this aircraft is average dirty. Technical Orders or TO's like the 1F-16A-6 and 1F-16-36 ensure wash requirements of aircraft to ensure corrosion and maintenance is accomplished. Hopefully this hleps!
