USAF F-16C block 32 #86-0273 from the 944th FW taxis out to the end of the runway signifying the beginning of air operations in Germany in support of Brilliant Arrow Operations. More than 150 members of the 301st and 944th FW deployed in support of "Brilliant Arrow," the air component of maritime, land and air NATO exercises going on in the region. The exercises are the final preparation phase before these three essential components of the NATO Response Force come together for the first time in the spring for the NRF live exercise "Steadfast Jaguar" off the west coast of Africa. USAF F-16C block 30 #87-0340 from the 466th FS "Diamondback" flies a training mission over the Great Salt Lake. The 419th is one of approximately 30 flying wings in the reserve and is the only Air Force Reserve unit in Utah. If the wing were mobilized for active duty, its aircraft and most of its members would be assigned to Air Combat Command. The F-16A #79-0327 will become a static display in front of the 944th Fighter Wing headquarters and is scheduled to be unveiled during a dedication ceremony on August 2nd, 2006.
