Capt. Brian Crum, 77th FS pilot, safely landed his damaged F-16C block 50 #94-0047 three minutes after takeoff on September 21st, 2006. His aircraft's jet engine was on fire and during takeoff the engine fire ignited the flightline field. With the assistance of his flight lead, Capt. Julie Moore, the pilots were able to save the aircraft and more importantly they safely avoided populated areas. The pilots received Airman Medals for their successful efforts. [USAF photo by MSgt.
