I bet those "Over wing" tanks are a B**ch to get on and off, and if you have a fuel problem in the F1 or F2 tank, a pretty frequent occurance those babys will have to come off. looks like they would get in the way of the PDU and gun pnls as well. why not just strap on the 600Gal ext tanks?? -

Because they "standard" tanks hinder the jets - limit. These are cleared for 9G, just like the airframe itself. -

What would you rather have? Easy access to fuel tanks or a plane that pulls 9Gs. -
