The B-26K was a modified B-26 to suit the COIN role the USAF was lacking in the early 1960s. Wing tip fuel tanks were added to the planes to increase the radius of actions, new engines to improve performance and the wings were strengthened to increase the loads and improve the life span. The B-26K was used heavily in the Indochina wars operating in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in the air to ground role.
