Hi everyone,
I was trying to collect information about available stores on F-16C blocks 40 and 50. And I ran into something about which I could not find information. Suspension equipment Adapter 16S301 which is used on stations 2,3,7 and 8. Am I correct in assuming that this is just a wing pylon used for AA missiles?
Also, is weapon pylon for AG weapons different from pylon for AA missiles on stations 3,7? If so, is this difference visible or is it only in wiring?
Thanks everyone in advance!

Generally speaking, the baseline pylon is good for "parent mounted" AG stores......ie one bomb on one pylon. If you want multiple on one station, then you are probably looking at a CVER/smart CVER (i.e. 1760 enabled). For AG and AA forward firing weapons, i.e. missiles, you generally require a launcher rail that works as an adaptor, attached to the pylon, mounted between it and the missile itself. This is true for AGM-65, AGM-88/88E, AIM-120, and non-wingtip AIM-9/9X, among some other more historical weapons. I believe the F-16 also uses a pretty specific pylon to mount the HARM/AARGM since the ALIC (sp?) is mounted into the pylon itself rather than the fuselage avionics bay like the CLC in the FA-18 is.

Thank you for reply!
Launchers are quite understandable topic. But I was talking about pylons. In some documents, such as a performance data manual, it is written that at stations 3 or 7 there could be adapter(16s301) or a weapon pylon. I think, I found a picture that illustrates adapters on stations 3 and 7. Am I correct? That small thing between LAU-129 and a wing.

I have never heard of 16S301. I seen 16S-210, which is the old AIM-9 launcher. On the photo posted, are you talking about the box on station two? If so, that is an ALE-50.

Assume he is looking at the old HAF supplement that lists 16S301 as an adaptor for the 16S210 and LAU-129 when on 2,3,7,8

16s301(Called an underwing adapter) is the small pylon used to attach an s-210 or LAU-129 to stations 2,3,7,8. Its the same for all stations. You can also use an ALE-50 on stations 2&8 to hang a launcher.

The word "adapter" confused me, but now I understand
