Check out the F-16 Versions section on the side menu bar. That'll let you know. Basically MLU's are older A and B model Vipers with Block 50 avionics.

Sniper69 ... I read the article on the MLU section. But being the novice that I am I could not find any reference to the As and Bs avionics being upgraded to Block-50 standard. Not in so many words actually. Are there any implied references in that article which amounts to the same? If so then what are they?

Thanks. :D

Basically MLU's are older A and B model Vipers with Block 50 avionics.

Actually the early Block 50`s didn`t have colour MFD`s wich the MLU`s do. Later during the CCIP upgrade all those block 50`s with old displays were updated to full colour MFD`s.
A RNoAF exchange pilot who flew with the 388FW for 3 years said after comming home and began flying the F-16A/B MLU that the MLU were far more modern and high-tech than the old block 40/42`s.

All this should however change with all block 40/50/42/52`s beeing CCIP`ed soon

I know what the CCIP mod entails, but what about the aging block 40/42's like the ones at HAFB with 5k plus hours. Is that the Pacer Loft program, to strengthen the airframe and prolong the lifespan?
Ex 16 CC workin 'hawks.

I think that is one of them. Not too sure wich is wich as there are several programs, amongst other Falcon Star wich I believe shall extend the life to atleast 8000hrs.
There is another thread on this site wich details it more closely.
