Was wondering if anyone does a" Forward of the Intake Inspection " Anytime a radome, avionics panel or 1305 is opened. You would make a seperate entry in the 781s. Saying the FOI inspection was C/W. Ive seen it a couple of places. But we dont do it here.
Most places tend to have a FO check C/w in their forms. I have never seen a FOI inspection written down. It does not have a reference which is required these days too. If you close a panel IAW the 52/53 JG you should be good to go. Don't waste the lead.
F16 462 AD USAF. Crew dog for 3 and Even a pointy head for a few months.
Only when structural work is accomplished in close proximity of the intake is a seperate entry made. Same as your unit with regards to 1305 and other panels. Individuals signing off the Red X should ensure all work is accomplished to include checking for FOD, tools and follow-on maintenance.
00-20-1 states that you will use a red X whe work is performed "in and around" the air intake of a jet engine. LOTS of room for interpretation. There is no mention of a "forward of the intake inspection". My guess is its a local policy.
That's true. I know that the only inspections that I have seen written up were after S/M did some repair work in front of or near the intake. And those were just for FO inspections after the maintenance was completed.
