Cant believe I dont know this but the T-birds have 229's installed????

Just looked it up...holy COW, those Vipers must be absolute ROCKET ships!!!

They are. If you get a chance to go see them firebase, definitely go see them. I'm amazed at the racket that SINGLE engine makes, at higher power settings. One of the solos did a low-altitude sustained 8-8+ G turn, and as it came around 180 degrees or more of the ark, it looked like the wings were going to rip off (an exaggeration of course), while closely following the plane was a thunderous crackling sound.

I bet!! Last time I saw them was about ten years ago, maybe more. Was super impressive. Saw an F-35B at an airshow in Beufort. Now THAT was LOUD!!!
