Now that's another tail worth waiting for! Thanks JSF!
May it be blessed with "Fair Winds and Following Seas."

Very nice. I love the darker gray that have gone with for all the F-35 pre-production aircraft so far.

They sure do look slick so far...

maybe production models will get similar treatment as they go to their intended squadrons. 8)

This is also the first F-35 in something approaching service markings.

A touch more Blue and Gold for my tastes!

I'll propose at the end of O,T&E, SDD "Sea" 01- 04 be attached to the B. A. for demonstration flights. :crazypilot:

It would be just like the airforce to give the chicken birds f-35's while we're still flying block 40's in the AOR.

Am having a hard time picturing C models on flight decks in the ghost grey scheme (which is more of a neutral if not bluish light gray) especially without the weathered look of numerous spot paintings / fixes for corrosion etc (anticipating "salt/corrosion-resistant stealth coating") seen on jets esp. after extended deployment. If CF-01 has robot-applied coatings, can these be (re)done in the hangar deck?

I'm so used to equating this look with frontline Navy combat aircraft that the F-35C's in the dull even gray without the "look" in this photo might look odd (but for good reasons!)

[edit]: Can't imagine the tail flash and flags & other detail are stealthy, though really nice looking. (having yet to see any F-22's "on duty" or deployment (parked on the ramp at Langley, Guam, Elmendorf etc) with colorful nose art or tail flashes, while I've seen a few old photos of F-14's on intercepts with Russian Bears with said art in place.
