F-35 and chase plane photos

Does any one know of any photos showing the F-35 with a chase plane without and external stores? I would like to show some anti-F-35 flamers that the F-35 can operate as well as the chase planes without the chase plane being loaded down.

The cleanest I have seen is a F-16 with a single centerline pod.

Adrian,

I don't think you'll find a photo of a chase F-16 or F-18 without some sort of extra gas bag(s) with the F-35 at this time. There is such a discrepancy between the Viper and Hornet compared to the F-35 in terms of gas that they really need it otherwise they won't be able to "hang" with F-35 as long.

Same thing when F-16s or F-15s chase the F-22. They won't have any hope to "hang" with the Raptor for very long unless they have the extra gas. The only time where you'll really see a clean Viper or Eagle "playing" with the F-22 is when they're doing OT work where it's desirable for the F-15s and F-16s to be at their most optimal aerodynamic configuration.

Obviously, the F-35 isn't in that phase of testing yet. When that time comes, you can bet that a portion of the F-35 tests will be evaluated against our very best Viper and Eagle jocks flying their best aircraft and game.

Oh no...

That might just prove that the F-22 is better at AA than the F-35, and we wouldn't want the administration or congress appear to be wrong... :doh:

Actual real-world data, performance, and results like that are strictly prohibited when politicians are making procurement decisions for the military; esp when the military is being 'told what they need' for success. :roll:

Remember the initial F-14/F-15 days when they weren't allowed to 'play' together? Back then it was the USN/USAF trying to keep both their respective programs alive.

I would think F-22 would never be used for safety chase. MTRFB costs of them vise an F-16/15 for AF is probably the same for us Navy guys, F-18E/F cost are prohibitive to budget. We use a-d.

Probably because that F-35 flight was to test the fuel dump system, so it was likely a short one.

Bah, the F-35 can dump half its internal fuel and still have more than an F-16 with a gas bag fresh from the tanker. your right though, prolly under two hours long and at moderate speeds.
