F-35's 400 kVA might be growth option... like the two different numbers given for F-15EX.

Since I found another source that gives the same 1MW for 787 as the graph, but only 2x 80 kW (160kW) for F-35. Which would give 160 kVA even with power factor 1.

"– Boeing 787: each engine (GEnx, Trent
1000) has two 250 kVA (kW) variable
frequency generators = total of 1 MW
electric power generation
– F-35: PW F135 has two 80 kW gen"

This shadier Quora otoh gives the number as 3 x 80 kW. But the 3rd one is for IPP and isn't meant to be run outside of startup.

Per the smudged last comment in Eloise's posted figure, the F-35A started out with 160kVa. Actuator forces have not increased, or LM would have been trumpeting some new super duper (sorry Boing) performance jump. So 160KVa is plenty to power the Lightning's actuators.

160kVa --> 400kVa seems to me putting in place the necessary power generation to be ready for directed energy weapons. There are several articles floating around that the USAF would like to put a 100kW laser on tactical aircraft.

I always wondered about using the F135-PW-600 driveshaft to power a generator where the Bee's lift fan would go. Gotta be capable of at least a megawatt of energy. But cooling is probably an issue.
Take an F-16, stir in A-7, dollop of F-117, gob of F-22, dash of F/A-18, sprinkle with AV-8B, stir well + bake. Whaddya get? F-35.
