Haven't heard anything since it came out that the USN has been providing bad data on wire-dynamics to non-Boeing contractors (funny how little attention that got in comparison to the F-35C bolters). Nothing substantive has been published on the matter since... as far as I can tell.
Always good to look here - where else? - but I would say that wouldn't i?:
F-35 milestones » F-35C Lands at Lakehurst For Testing Why this topic is here always befuddles me but what's new?

He was asking for "new developments." That's just the same old news about carrier-trials with a recent date on it (DOT&E is behind as usual).spazsinbad wrote:Always good to look here - where else? - but I would say that wouldn't i?:

IIRC, 'C' hook passed CDR a couple months ago. Goes back to Lakehurst in late fall. DT-1 about a year from now.
And in other news, F-35B will go to the ship for the SECOND time this August...

Thanks for the news then 'lookieloo' - one may ask - what is new in your opinion. If you have news then please provide it - thanks. If you bothered to look there was 'news' on 14 May this year but not up to the minute I'll admit. Otherwise we just have to take 'quicksilver' news at face value. Is 'quicksilver' reliable? Does he provide 'good' news? The only "news so to speak" is already on the forum here:
http://www.f-16.net/index.php?name=PNph ... &start=330 (top of the page - with the ship trials for B/C mentioned a few times now.) So whatever...

Easy there. We all know the basics:spazsinbad wrote:Thanks for the news then 'lookieloo' - one may ask - what is new in your opinion. If you have news then please provide it - thanks. ... hook didn't work (critics rejoyce and hoot)
... business-end was sharpened and it worked somewhat better, but the cushy parts needed mods (critics still hooting)
... fix planned for cushy parts announced and land/ship testing expected 2013-2014 (critics hoot a bit less)
... X-47 has same problem and USN fingered for faulty wire-data, journalists forced to admit same for F-35 (critics shut up for most part, very little interest in reporting story since)
That's all I'm sayin.
Still and all what is new then?

Finally, something solid on the hook successfully trapping on land.. great!

'popcorn' you may wonder how the thread about the hook became so long and ended up here - I have no idea - but anyway the news was in already there:
viewtopic.php?f=57&t=15767&p=263923#p263923 [scroll up probably]
