Meathook wrote:Yep - I too remember kicking the tires so the nose would settle, I remember when we were told to "shake" the aircraft during refueling ensuring all gas was loaded, how silly was that...problems with P&V valves if memory serves me correctly.

WE had no idea we might be adding undue stress to the Finger Braces with all that rocking and rolling that was going on....silly thing you remember some times.

I think the T.O. actually read something about only shaking the wings if the jet was parked on uneven or unlevel ground. We used to get yelled at for doing that at Aviano.

They are still flying some of those Migs, we had a few of them, and the Mirage aircraft at PV IV. An Shas hasn't changed much, other than it is getting surrounded by Cairo, nice golf course near there, as well as the M1 Abrams factory not too far away. Funny seeing bombs on their jets, only saw that once in a year, rare to see anything other than tanks hanging off of their jets, they rarely even used their targeting pods.

Just reviving a very old thread.

Egypt always was a little difficult to obtain information on. If anyone who worked for the Peace Vector programs in the past has more info on the F-16 squadrons the Egyptians fly them in, please contact me.

Pictures are also always welcome. Half of the missing F-16 pictures are from Egypt.
