I recently saw a picture of an Italian F-16B early Block 10 with the Italian registration of MM7269. Anyone has more information about the US serial of this aircraft and about the other serials of recently delivered F-16's.

Greets,

Well. Yes. You saw right. If you looked into other things, I'm pretty sure Italy leased some, I think 34, to fill the gap in their Air Force until they get EF2K.

You are right, Italy has some 2-3 squadrons of F-16s.

I think the italians need to learn how to fly before they worry about the Typhoon. God I remember living there watching them tear a$$ around at 500 feet in there F-4's. Wake the damn dead.

Two of my friends are working for Lockheed Martin training the Italians on the leased F-16's. The idea is to get Italy to buy either block 60's or the new joint strike fighter in the future.

The Italians are requesting the lease program to be extended another 5 years from the original 3. One of my friends is the avionics representative and the other is hydraulics. 8 years on the island might be fun, but I opted for the block 60 UAE program to start in May 2004.
