Hi there,
I'm in the process of scanning my slides of the Edwards AFB Open House 2003. There are a couple of interesting Vipers among them. Here are a few:

Thanks! We were there Sunday. What did we miss on saturday? I know the Bone was going for some time-to-climb records, but other than that, they did just about everything else. I was happy to see the T-bird two-seater, I'm trying to get my hands on the Hasegawa kit.

Did anyone notice the serial numbers of the ED-tail jets in Roger's and Habu's shots? Roger has a pic of 92-0407 and Habu has pics of 92-0454 - both of those are originally Pakistani-bound birds that were embargoed before delivery. I had read that those jets were now going into USAF service but I had only heard that they were going into aggressor squadrons. I did not know until now that Edwards received some of these. Does anyone know if Edwards got more than two of the embargoed Pak jets?
(please don't turn this into a political thread...)

Those jets wee also one time destined to be flown by the New Zealand AF, after the Pakistani deal fell through. But that never happened, I think because the NZAF or the NZ government didn't feel the need for fighters in their AF.

Ya know, I was wondering that, because of the later serials. I have the TwoBobs decal sheet, and none of the serials on the sheet were present. So I knew these had to be from somewhere else, I mean when was the last time they built a B or D that went straight to Edwards?

Do your homework, Tiger!
Greg,
Yes, Edwards received more than two. Bu our information the total lot of ex-Pakistani F-16's was equally devided between the AF and the Navy. The latter using them for Agressor training in replacement of the (T)F-16N aircraft which were fased out a few years ago. The remainder went to the AF, with at least two of them going to Edwards, but possibly more on the way.

I know the B models Eddies had prior were OLD, I crewed one of them the first 6 months there until they split the orange and whites from the regular test birds, that was in Dec 98. The one I crewed was #78-0081 the rest were 78 models except for 3 of them. I guess they got some new ones since most of the old Block 10's were restricted from exceeding 650 knots due to a tcto not being done to the wings.

Time Compliance Technical Order, The AF uses them when there is a change that needs to happen. There are different type of TCTO's. Some are safey issue related ones and have to be done immediately others are just for a mod such as: By a certain time replace all gear door actuators. Check Wiring in this location for chaffing, ETC..... They can range from a simple inspection to doing something major to the aircraft that enhances its capabilities.
