In spring 2022, VMA-311 will reactivate as Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 311 operating the F-35C Lightning II at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Similarly, VMA-214 will begin flying the F-35B as VMFA-214 at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma....

About over a decade ago -311 was considered one of the best Harrier squadrons in the USMC. They had some serious talent, and strangely enough some bizarre "coincidences" that always seemed to happen in their personnel system. They somehow always ended up with talented people from certain regions.
