Yep, considering it was unlikely that a WSO would remain as the CO of an F-35 Squadron, he was going to be reassigned anyway....I 'spect the 'relieved of command to set an example' was more to the general's benefit than 'relieved of command because you're irrelevant'.
As sharp as he apparently is, I imagine he already has his ducks lined up for eventual civvy life.

I’m betting this is the consequence of the public release and rehash of the fatal Hornet/Herc mishap JAG report (involving a ‘D’ Squadron in WestPac). Zero tolerance for coloring outside the lines.

That didn't look fast from an airshow perspective, but under standard aviation rules you cannot exceed 250 knots in most airspace types. Speculation, maybe that was the issue?

Nah. Mil aircraft get waivers for some routine ops — e.g. break airspeeds are typically 300-350. What we don’t know is what was briefed up the chain of command ahead of time. Early article suggested a deviation of some kind from what was briefed.
