Yeah, the drop tanks are a giveaway, as the F-35 doesn't have any yet.

And IIRC, paints beyond the RAM coating are a no-no for stealth too.

Stealth on Steroids: Meet Israel’s F-35I Adir (An F-35 Like No Other)

F-35I Adir—or “Mighty Ones”—will be the only F-35 variant to enter service heavily tailored to a foreign country’s specifications.

by Sebastien Roblin

Israel is also developing two different sets of external fuel tanks to extend the F-35’s range. The first will be non-stealthy 425-gallon under wing tanks developed by a subsidiary of Elbit—these could be dropped when approaching enemy airspace (the pylons holding the drop tanks would reportedly detach as well so as not to compromise stealth), or used for missions in which stealth isn’t necessary. Further down the line, IAI wants to co-develop with Lockheed bolt-on conformal fuel tanks which “hug” the F-35 airframe so as not to compromise stealth and aerodynamics.

Yes, from Ofir Gendelman's Twitter (Gendelman is Prime Minister Netanyahu's spokesperson for the Arab media):

Translated by Google translate from the original Arabic:

Congratulations to the Israeli air force, the best regional and perhaps the world that launched this week a second squadron of the stealth F-35 I, the squadron No. 116. Name of the squadron: "Hama Negev."

The F-35 is another strategic weapon we have to protect our nation.

116FS is the second F-35i (Adir) in the IAF, sister squadron to 140FS.
The squadron name "The Defenders of the South" or "The Defenders of the Negev" (The Negev is the southern area of Israel)

116FS will get first airplanes in 2020, probably from LRIP-12 batch which include 6 F-35i's for Israel.

116FS Lineage:
- 1956 Established as NAA P-51D Mustang Fighter Squadron in Tel-Nof (Ekron) AFB
- 1961 Dassault Mystère IV in Hazor AFB
- 1971 McDonnell Douglas A-4E/N Skyhawk in Hazor AFB
- 1983 McDonnell Douglas A-4N Skyhawk in Nevatim AFB
- 2002 Deactivated
- 2003 General Dynamics F-16A/B in Nevatim AFB
- 2015 Deactivated
- 2020 Lockheed Martin F-35i in Nevatim AFB

In approximately one year, the IAF's 116th Squadron will be reestablished as an "Adir" (F-35I) squadron.
This week (Monday), a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the establishment of its first designated building

These EFT's are going to be a sight to behold, both of them.

And conformals... wow. Can't even imagine where they're going to place those. Over the fuselage? Under?? On the sides? My vote is over, although I'm still having a really tough time visualizing it.

Conformals look cool, but those EFT's make her look downright ugly.

Oh well, if it gets them the range... With 18,000lbs of internal fuel though, you'd think that's enough! Crazy engineering feat, considering the F-16 has only 7,000 and an F-18C about 10,000...
