F135 diameter

I remember several years ago the listed diameter for the CTOL and CV variants of the F135 having an inlet diameter of 46 inches and maximum diameter of 51 inches. But now, every source, even ones from PW, lists inlet diameter as 43 inches and maximum diameter 46 inches. Did something change?

When there are a lot of hits when searching the F-35 forum for information then searching on one word, then searching the search results with another relevant word and REPEAT next word, is often a good way to find items quickly but YMMV:

Yes, I've seen these sources and posts pointing to the F135 having 46 inch inlet diameter and 51 inch diameter maximum, but the confusion is from P&W's current website and data sheet that now says 43 inch inlet diameter and 46 inch max diameter. I don't know how to reconcile this, which is why I asked.

Has anybody found accurate data on the Specifications (Length, Diameter, Weight, etc.) for the P&W F119 and F135??? As from I've seen recently still looks questionable....

A member of another forum said the F135 was very similar in size and weight to the F119. Yet, I recalled reading the F-135 was both larger and heavier. Just wanted supporting sources before I made such a claim....

Honestly, very confused as I was sure I read that the F135 was both larger and heavier than F119. Which, wouldn't fit in the F-22. (or vice versa) Yet, from most online sources both look extremely close..........

Oh, and I am not making a case for the F135 to fit in the F-22 or F119 in the F-35. Just comparing the physical size and weight of the two.......

According to a press release from maintainers at Tinker, the F135-100 is 18.4 feet long (which corroborates with the data sheet) and weighs 3,750lbs. There is no reliable open source data for the F119 weight, but it’s about a foot and a half shorter (6’11”).

Wouldn't fit in the F-22? A dimension off by a millimeter and an engine (or any part for that matter) won't fit.

The F135 is probably a little larger and heavier than the F119. From a layman's perspective, they are probably about the same size.

The F135 is probably a little larger and heavier than the F119. From a layman's perspective, they are probably about the same size.

So, then the P&W F100 and GE F110 must have been identical....As both used in the F-15 and F-16. While, the latter was also used in the F-14 in place of the P&W TF-30.
