So he thinks that's possible? That is in fact exactly what they're working on.

They don't go up there to be fair and sportsman like. He'd know nothing about that of course.

You have to be amazed by how creative he is to criticize F-35. This time: F-35 beat mock enemy is because F-35 eats so much budget that USAF doesn't have the money to develop better mock enemy.

So just so we are clear, the USAF tried to retire the A-10 to save money, and we're prevented from doing so and now can't afford aggressors and that is the F-35s fault.

Yup ok

During mock combat, the F-35s reportedly shot down eight twin-engine F-15Es, for no losses of their own  —  this despite the 2015 revelation that the F-35 is inferior to a single-engine F-16 in a simulated dogfight. Would you believe AXE likes to not only make 'WARisBoring' but also recycle stuff with the PDF link added? 'gideonic' had posted the earlier PDFless article here: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=25623&p=345702&hilit=David#p345702

When did this happen?

http://www.airforcetimes.com/story/military/2016/07/06/clever-girl-3-star-general-compares-f-35-jurassic-park-velociraptor/86774970/

Saying an advanced military aircraft is like a dinosaur usually isn’t a good thing, but Marine Lt. Gen. Jon Davis meant it as the highest compliment.

The Marine Corps recently put the F-35B Lightning II through its paces in a highly-contested airspace combat scenario. The result? The joint strike fighters were able to destroy all 24 enemy targets without taking any losses.

“It was like 'Jurassic Park,' watching a velociraptor,” Davis said. “It kills everything. It does really well.”

I'm pretty sure that somewhere on this forum, I made that comparison in a comment. The whole "and that's when the one you didn't see hits you from the side" seems like a fairly appropriate analogy.

Clever girl: 3-star general compares F-35 to 'Jurassic Park' velociraptor
06 Jul 2016 Phillip Swarts

"Saying an advanced military aircraft is like a dinosaur usually isn’t a good thing, but Marine Lt.

Speaking before the House Armed Services subcommittee on readiness Wednesday, Davis said that fourth-generation aircraft like the F/A-18 Hornet and EA-6B Prowler would get shot down by their pseudo aggressors when running similar training scenarios.

“We just ran a normal scenario we would have with our legacy aircraft," he said. "Generally about half to a third of the airplanes don’t make it through.”

But the advanced stealth and electronic warfare capabilities of the F-35 are impressing military leaders with their high mission success rates and advanced capabilities, said Davis, the Corps’ deputy commandant for aviation.

“We’re very excited about the airplane," he said. "What we’re seeing right now in the F-35 is exceptional capability. We can’t get that airplane fast enough into the fleet.”..."

I knew they go for realism in training but this seems to raise the level a notch. This would explain the comments sometimes heard from pilots that the training can apparently challenge them more than the actual combat.

(BFM – F-35 against A-4, might not be fair. Still, the A-4 started as the offensive part every time. At the end of each set, I was pointing at the A-4. Every time.)

I'm actually more impressed by the fact that even with the assistance of jamming and GCI stations, the A-4s still couldn't reliably detect the F-35 or prevent the F-35 from blasting them out of the sky before they can detect it.
