Is it me, or does the F-35 Multi Mission Pod look like a small canoe in that picture with humans behind it.

Will the pod fit on the wing stations?

Anyone know the dimensions of the pod?
I just wanted to guess how much fuel would fit.

On the topic of pylons.

It would be nice if the pylons were stealth without weapons on them.

The gun pod is not designed for wing stations.

That is why I are spaz. What else can I be/do? Search my top secret stash of F-35/Aurora info and post it anonymously online? Yeah right.

I think the one with the people is just a mockup.

Isn't the separate picture a mockup of a multipurpose pod based on the outer dimensions of the gun pod?
Einstein got it backward: one cannot prevent a war without preparing for it.

Uncertainty: Learn it, love it, live it.

That Terma pod, isn't a gun pod. That's why it looks different. It's also why it says "multi-mission pod" rather than "gun pod" on the side...

The gun pod on the upside down F-35 is a gun pod...

Perhaps to re-inforce the obvious. Currently this is what TERMA does (+ the Multi Mission Pod):

http://www.terma.com/aero/the-world's-l ... l-project/

"Terma Deliveries
At present, Terma supplies these products and services for the F-35:

Composite Conventional Edges for the aircraft Horizontal Tails
Advanced lightweight composite components for the Center Fuselage
Missionized Gun Pods for the STOVL and CV Variants
Data Acquisition Pods for Flight Test Instrumentation
Air-to-Ground Pylons [but are they stealthy? OF course they are - made from composite materials - same as the PODDing GUN! :-) ]
Radar electronics."

Terma Highlights F-35 Multi-Mission Pod Farnborough Air Show » July 12, 2012
by David Donald

http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/ ... sion-pod-0

"Denmark’s Terma is showing off, for the first time here at the show, the multi-mission pod (MMP) it has developed for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The MMP began life as the gun pod for the F-35, which Terma designed and developed on behalf of General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, but the company has developed it into a more versatile pod that should prove attractive, in particular, to overseas operators of the JSF....

...Terma’s gun pod is a full-monocoque carbon fiber composite structure. It has passed engineering test and qualification, and is now in low-rate initial production...."

If you look at the photos of the pod the one at the trade show has it's nose facing left and the one on the F-35 of course is facing right. They both have the same shape.
