I finally found and built one after all these years of waiting!
OOB except for GT Resin intake; the intake looks seamless to the inlet fan.
I used Microscale liquid Decal Film since I didn't want any unexpected incidents with the kit decals.
Fuselage is painted in Testors Extreme Lacquer "White Lightning" and "Wet Look Clear"; the "WL" has a pearl effect, really makes the TB shine.

Yes, the stand has an aluminum rod that goes into the backside of the inlet fan and through the last stage of the engine with an o-ring in both areas. I was surprised at how Tamiya engineered this feature of the kit. Now I understand why their 1/48 Vipers have mystery parts that aren't called out in the instructions; they are basically the reduced scale version of those parts.
