Ok, this project was a stark contrast to the "Slow Build" of my jet that is STILL not finished! However, this time I had a deadline, and if you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute!

At any rate, this jet was built as a going-away gift for our squadron commander (whose name is on the jet), and had to be finished by his farewell dinner this past week. I had roughly 3 weeks notice, so I worked a lot of nights and weekends, and 10 hours straight the day of the event. I was able to get it finished enough to present that night, and I just put the finishing touches on this weekend so I can deliver it tomorrow.

As with all models, there are a couple of little things that didn't turn out quite the way I would have liked, but hey, that's the way it goes! Enjoy.....

Interesting colors on that ALQ-131, never seen it like that before.

Yeah, I just realized that I reversed the white and olive at the bottom of the pod (the little part). The center should be white, and the two outer sides should be olive-ish. Other than that, though, that's the color scheme that we had on our pods up until just recently. Now they're using a two-tone grey scheme. You can see it in this litho by Ronald Wong:

Thanks guys! It was a lot of hard work, but at least I had fun building it. Now, if I could just finish my own!

Viper Mx, I'll see what I can do as far as prices go and let you know. I'm not sure if we have any left. I'll check.

And I have an update as far as the color of the 131 Pod goes. Looks like I wasn't high on paint fumes when I painted the thing! Check out these pics from our Red Flag deployment back in 04.

Nice Build. I must say that this is one of the best models that I have seen. The pieces are formed and fit with an amazing amount of precision and this turned out to be a beautiful model. I would recommend this to anybody. That is closer to the real thing than any of the other models in the market.
