I built Meng's Ford F-350 pickup, it went together beautifully; same results with their F-35A so far. The weapons bays and landing gear wells snapped right into position during assembly. The intake assembly is simply amazing, no seams at all. The fuselage looks great, more details on that once the glue cures later and the tape is removed.

Very minimal putty required once the tape was removed and glue cured.

Here is a testimony showing the tolerances on part fit--

The vertical tails do not have any glue on them, being held in place by the airframe.

Unfortunately the wing to fuselage seam is going to require some extra attention, holy gap! The lower are barely noticeable thankfully.

looking forward to seeing how this comes out. I was on the fence between this and the Kitty Hawk model.

The Meng kit definitely beats the KHs, no doubts about it.

Now with Mission Models FS36170 Have Glass Grey on the airframe; really captures the unique coating shades. Previous "C" model built painted with FS36118 and FS36375 for comparison.

After experiencing some difficulty in assembly, here are some tips:

-Ensure the slots in the main landing wells where the aft landing gear doors attach are completely free of paint. I fought the installation for over an hour; I had to sand attaching point on doors repeatedly. I think it would be better to install the wells without struts, then install aft doors, then install struts.
-Exercise patience while installing all the hinge arms on the weapons and nose gear doors; a total of 26 on 6 doors. I had to run a small drill bit for parts F11 to slide freely into hinge arms (step 25).
-The doors mount superbly after all this hard work is accomplished.

-One feature of the kit really stands out, the door mounted launchers for the AIM-120s in the weapons bays, remarkable engineering.

Weapons loaded crew visited yesterday afternoon. I painted the SDBs in shades of green to provide some contrast with the airframe; I prefer bombs painted this way instead of gray. Kinetic for the single bombs, Skunk Works models for the underwing SDBs, 9Xs from a Tamiya Thunderbird. Thankful for the spares boxes since this kit lacked in the weapons department.
