How would the proposed F-15EX fare against Chinese Stealth Fighters like the J-20 and/or J-31??? :-|

It will be relying on EPAWSS and IRST21 to detect/track them before its APG-82 does at least in a head-on encounter.

Given no RCS reduction measures, it won't fair well.

In the same way that Russian SU-35's won't fare well against American F-22's and 35's, the F-15EX will be at a significant disadvantage. Being so heavily laden, it won't be able to run either and will likely be chased down by any J-20 or 31 that doesn't kill it BVR.

Just one more reason we should be building more F-35's, and not F-15EX's...

It's not J-31, it's FC-31 since it's a company project not officially run by PLAAF/PLAN.

For simple job of air policing or air sovereignty the F-15EX is fine though the price is way too high for what it is.

Sorry, the Chinese Government is fully funding the J-31/FC-31....

Nor, is the F-15EX remotely capable of handling either the J-20 and/or J-31 in Air Combat. Yet, I do agree it's price is way to high!

Just not survivable....Which, is what the US Military has been saying about all 4/4.5 Generation Fighters. For over a decade now....

The odds of the F-15EX surviving a close encounter with either the J-20 or J-31 are "poor" at best. Same could be said of other future 5th Generation Fighters. (TFX, KFX, etc.)
