B-1B MALD integration

Military aircraft - Post cold war aircraft, including for example B-2, Gripen, F-18E/F Super Hornet, Rafale, and Typhoon.

Never heard the USAF planning to integrate the MALD into the Bone’s Arsenal. But it appears that work is going on for such an integration currently from this photo that USAF released.

That is good to hear. I can't imagine we have an aircraft in the inventory that would be better suited to deploying the MALD in significant numbers.

The B-52 can carry 18 externally, not sure how many can be internal.

Actually it's 16, each HSAB is limited to 8 -1760 11 in weapons. FWIW I conducted the first separation of the MALD on the BUFF, was on 0050 for the first launch and on the aircraft for the max Q & max Mach separation.

What is the limiting factor for smart weapons?

Something with the computers, it's been over a decade so memory fades and as you said info is scarce so there may not be a public source description out there. There are some B-52H AMI dash ones floating around the interwebs if anyone was really curious...
