I recently heard you have to be at your duty station for 6 months before being deployed with your squadron, my sons set to go with the 55th to Iraq in april with only 4 months, what does this mean? will he go to bagram with another squadron instead two months later?

I know there's a six month down period after the completion of a short/long tour where you're not supposed to deploy, waiverable of course.

He will only be out of training for 4 months when they deploy.

Yeah, he can deploy. Not optimal, but it happens.

ive personally have done it, got to Hill at the end of august and left for Iraq on january 2nd. not optimal but your son will probably be better off for it.
