Anything goes, as long as it is about the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor

Found a new picture of an AN/APG-77 antenna. Anyone want to take a crack at how many T/R modules in there?

That looks like a mockup so counting would be inaccurate.

Some poor guy in China has been tasked with counting all those by hand for 10 cents/hour, so that they know how many to add 100 to in the next AESA mockup China releases.

That was hilarious! Thanks for the chuckle..

Likewise, Boris writing for Sputnick news is doing the same. Expect to see just 1 more TR module on their mockup of what's going into the PAK FA (ETA "soon"). Followed by loud trumpeting noises about having the "most powerful AESA on the planet".

Counting TR's, or stars, isn't so easy, as demonstrated by the EU a short while ago

Too bad it's a mockup. I wanted to use a picture of an APG-77 for my thesis, but they apparently don't really exist. I guess taking pictures of one of the most advanced radars in the world is frowned upon, who would have thought.

Well, it is a top notch mockup because unless my eyes deceive me it has 2,014 modules.

The mockup might be better than some actual radars out there.
If someone was crafty they could smuggle some to Iran and make a mint..... they probably won't notice.

9 stars across the top row x 3 rows = 27 stars
8 stars across the next row down x 3 rows = 24 stars
27 + 24 = 51 stars

The 51st star represents U.S ownership of all of Europe.

And rightly so. After all, they have provided security for them the last 70 years.
