The F-16's avionics system structure is comparatively simple, using single bus system, while the F/A-18 use a dual-channel bus structure.

Is this statement true?

Is the F/A-18 avionics settup superior to the viper's? More upgradable?

What are the advantages of each?

Dual channel bus structure does not describe F/A-18 avionics bus system. It also differs by model and block.

Generally speaking F/A-18 has redundant multi-channel MIL-STD-1553 databus structure with dual mission computers and some specialized sub-buses.

Otherwise F/A-18 avionics are better than those in F-16 ;) More (and bigger?) screens...
