The lack of a degree will tend to limit his options. However I suggest that you restructure the resume towards his extensive process and training experience and then look at the Alcoa website, they have some well paying jobs open in the Wichita Falls plant and they are a very process and documentation orientated company. The plant there makes specialist castings for pretty much everyone in the aviation industry.

"If he takes a GS job in CS he will not have to join the Res. or Guard, but he will still loose his retirement pay.
You cannot collect Federal Pay from two places at one time. "

Not true at all. He would still get his retirement pay...he has earned it. However if he worked for civil service his time would start from 0 again. Which means his prior service time won't be counted toward service comp date. In a nut shell....if he hired on as a CS he would be just like any other noob that got hired in from the street and he only would get the bare minimum for annual and sick leave.

The depot here at Hill is loaded with retired military (I'm one) and they ALL get to keep their retirement pay.
Gravity....its not just a good idea, ITS THE LAW!

Something to do with the new T-6 programs going on... quality control supervisor... he'll be making more than he did when he retired and i think he retired as an E-6 tech Sgt? So that pay plus his retirement and his VA will be really good, lol. they seem to have a lot of jobs open with l 3 at Sheppard right now...
