Job Description

VSE Corporation is seeking Aircraft Mechanic III's for our facility located at Hill AFB, UT to perform the following duties:

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC III (Electrician): As a crew leader, coordinates the work of personnel to ensure that tasks are properly scheduled to achieve maximum utilization of personnel and expedite in-commission aircraft. Provide technical guidance to junior aircraft mechanics. Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex to extremely difficult problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Accomplishes ground operational checks using ground support equipment monitoring instruments for malfunctions to determine corrective action on various systems. Repair and replace electrical components or parts and make necessary adjustments and repairs to aircraft instruments, gauges, connectors and wiring configurations assuring proper system operation. Independently use test equipment, stands, instruments, gauges, and controls to troubleshoot both major and minor aircraft electrical systems in accordance with technical orders or specifications. Detect, diagnose, and record unacceptable equipment/systems performance by reading, interpreting and utilizing technical orders, specifications, drawings and blueprints. Display and employ a good knowledge of various aircraft electrical systems and proper operational requirements to determine type and extent of repairs required to produce a quality product. Inspect components and parts for defects, serviceability, and proper hardware with use of system diagrams, drawings, blueprints, manufacturer’s data, and appropriate technical orders.

Job Requirements


Minimum two (2) years’ of aircraft wiring experience and have performed an appropriate/ comparable level of maintenance/ installation within the last three years. Crew Leader must possess a current Hot Air Soldering Certificate and a Liquid Oxygen (LOX) System Training Certificate. Required to have F-16 Egress training, if training was not completed within the last twelve (12) months, training will be provided by the government. Experience and knowledge of various aircraft electrical and sub-systems, electrical maintenance techniques, methods, procedures and processes to troubleshoot, modify, repair complex to extremely difficult electrical systems, components and accessories in fixed-wing F-16 aircraft. Knowledge of aircraft electrical test equipment necessary to perform final functional and operational testing. Knowledge of aircraft electrical maintenance techniques, methods, procedures and processes to include repair, troubleshooting, inspection, safety, documentation and security. Ability to use common and special tools and test devices associated with aircraft electrical work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, current USAF directives (manuals, instructions, publications, TOs) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) specifications, to include engineering dispositions.
