Watch Lockheed Martin next year, their technical publications division. They will be hiring. When the JSF 35 ramps up and later with F-22. It's ok no one else there knows JSF 35's either. Technical and T.O. experience goes a long way.

There will be other jobs also. The pay is good, but the work fluctuates every 3 to 4 years. The boss likes to say Aerospace jobs are never permanent.

If your looking for an F-16 job. You might try the ART program in the Reserve. Carswell and Homestead are picking up the F-16s from Hill.

Put in a Resume with the Air Force Personel center. And self nominte your self for any USAF job.

On the Sikorsky job in the Keys. Any idea what they are paying? You need some serious money to live in Key West.

Hill AFB recently won a contract to modify and upgrade the F-22 aircraft. There will be a slue of jobs opening up very soon (so I have heard) here at Hill. If your ex-military, your chances are increased of being hired (in my opinion) due to the ease of obtaining or reactivating your old or existing USAF Security Clearance and related aircraft maintenance experience.

I would keep watching the Federal Jobs page on the Internet or go to the Hill AFB web-page and click on the links that should take you to open job positions available or being offered. I know there coming because we get our first aircraft........soon.

So, there are now F-16's, A-10's, C-130 aircraft upgrades and maintenance efforts under way and soon the F-22 maintenance actions will be added to that listing. Keep plugging, don't give up...jobs will be open and more then likely, if you have ex-USAF experience on fighters...you got a better then average shot at it (my opinion).

Good luck.......

This is how I ended up with The Boeing Company. Lockheed,Northrop, Boeing, etc... do look for ex-USAF maintainers. I was a F-16 CC that hired in as a Tech Writer, and 8 years later I'm a program manager.

While aerospace companies are limited by their ability to obtain government contracts, many such as http://jobs.meetngc.com/ continue to experience and increase in hiring. If you are looking for a career in the aerospace industry, I highly recommend you consider them and check out their website.
