The FAP places Air Force Reserve personnel within Active Duty (AD) units at AD locations. Specifically, experienced fighter pilots and maintainers are assigned to active duty fighter squadrons in Air Combat Command to bolster experience levels within AD units. The Parent 307th Fighter Squadron is located at Langley AFB, VA and is part of 10th Air Force, one of three numbered air forces within the Air Force Reserve Command.
Members of the 307th are assigned to Detachments at Shaw AFB South Carolina, Eglin AFB Florida, Langley AFB Virginia, Hill AFB Utah (Pilots Only), and Nellis AFB Nevada (Pilots Only). Members of the 307th FS fly and maintain the F-15C, F-16C (Block 30, 40 & 50) and A-10 aircraft.
A typical detachment consists of a full time detachment commander (pilot), three part time pilots, two full time maintainers (1 Crew Chief, 1 Avionics), four part time maintainers (2 Avionics, 2 Electricians), and one full time administrator.
This program is geared towards recapturing experienced pilots and maintainers and returning their experience to the Active Duty. This program offers stability and continuity to the member and the Unit they are assigned. No PCS moves are required and deployments are not as frequent. A family first approach insures that quality of life standards are met as often as possible.
There are part time maintenance (F-15) vacancies at both Langley AFB and Eglin AFB. And part time Avionics and Electro environmental E/E and Engine maintenance (F-16) positions available at Shaw AFB South Carolina.
