 Please refer to the topic below to get rest of the story--->Warning about F-15 jobs, AEC, Saudi Arabia.

Most of the original topic is pretty much true, but there is much more hidden truths to the story.

There are quite a few jobs available here through Aviation Recruiting and other recruiting agaencies. There are 135 jobs available at this link:

http://www.aviationrecruiting.net/candi ... ntl/saudi/

Come on over:

If you can take the endless abount of incompetent administrative servies (HR), delays in getting your IL, HL, bonuses, lost paperwork, no assistance from getting feedback on the status of your dependents' VISA, providing absolutely no assistance in case they don't accept your marriage or birth certificates, not paying for residence VISAs, delaying RSAF directed medical and eye exams.
There are no policies and procedures, HR just makes up his their own rules---as long as it is saving the company money--- which eventually ends up in HR's pocket. Just visit the site, and we will take care of the rest. Thanks for reading this and have a nice day.

One thing that that the above post has failed to mention is the complete idiocy of the Saudis. These guys are so retarded that I no longer believe they are responsible for 9/11. I don't believe any Saudi possesses the intellect to pull off a massive attack with the coordination of several dozen others individuals. I just honestly don't believe it can be done, they are THAT stupid.....and lazy. Financed by Saudis; yea, maybe.

If you were to accept a job working in the armpit of the world and had the pleasure of working with a dozen morons that want to kill you, you will find you are responsible for everything wrong in your shop, even if it happened 5 years before you showed up. No Saudi can do anything wrong, so everything ends up being your fault and you will be constantly ostracized about your work. You will be blamed because most Saudis are just too stupid and lazy to learn anything remotely technical, besides, of course, watching porn on their cell phones. If you point out a mistake a Saudi makes, you will be threatened with termination. If you request a Saudi to do their job, you will be threatened with termination. If you show up to work and do your job while keeping your mouth shut, eventually they will threaten you with termination. Nothing you do will be right.

Add all of that to the already mentioned laundry list of crap you have to put up with from the goof-balls in AEC, and you will probably come to the conclusion that the pay check just isn't worth it. A few individuals can last more than a year or two; they have patients I can't even begin to comprehend. Kudos to them. But as for the rest of us, you will find yourself looking for the nearest bridge to hang yourself from. (It's between Dhahran and Bahrain, FYI).

Simply an unbelievable post. Inevitably, though, you tip off your intelligence level...you figure out how, I don't have the "patients" to do so. You have a lot of nerve calling anybody stupid.

Comments like yours have no place in any forum except for the Hate web sites. Why don't you go to some of those and post your crap? Don't forget to use your real name, if you have the balls to.

user_name: so right; disregard the above post by Sambor... guys like that are all over the forums.

Below is an example of life in Saudi back in the mid to late eighties. Having worked for the company (Peace Sun Program - worker/promoted to management in-country), the below figures are dead-on as is the attitude of Saudi's and management (American) described by user_name. I am not attempting to sway an opinion but to offer facts as a worker and then manager.

Past experience shows a company makes six figures per year, per employee (then McDonnell Douglas) made $125K per sign-on. Flight line employees were paid, and I'm talking strictly APG now, $50K, that included housing, and transportation to and from work, house hold storage in a environmentally controlled facility (stateside), medical, (unless you were retired military), and dental. The employee paid for food (wife, kids if he had any) plus, you paid for your private vehicle, if you elected to purchase one. You could take the shuttle to and from work and downtown to do shopping (there's your transportation). Remember kids, there is the good ol' boy factor working in each and every one of these overseas assignments, so be forewarned. Mind you, the above is some 25 years past, but as you cruise through the net you will find nothing has changed except the name of the companies that hold the present contract. The housing and compounds are quite adequate and safe, but you will be living and working with the same people EVERY day. Again, this is some 20 years past; retirees had a loathing for the "Air Force 4 year dropouts" although the dropouts performed all the manual labor. Keep your personal business to yourself and never let on to much about yourself… food for thought. One last note, take home pay was $36K tax free.

os7,

Actually I worked in Saudi fairly recently and I found no resentment of "4 year dropouts" by retirees. We had a large portion of retirees on the compound and a good number of 1 term enlistees and pretty much everyone got along fine. The people I met from the compound were actually one of the things I really liked about living there (well, except the horrible management personnel that has been mentioned above).

Oh, and I'm not saying that 100% of the Saudis I met were special-ed. There were a few who were well educated and actually had some common sense, and who I could talk to about current events, politics, and even religion without anyone getting upset. There was probably 3 or 4 that I genuinely enjoyed talking to, and who were able to share their culture with me and mine with them, and who I actually wouldn't mind seeing again someday (though I know I won't).

Let me re-phrase my original statement that MOST of them are so retarded I don't believe Saudis are responsible for 9/11. With that little edit, I stand by my original post.

Ya know, I've been down here in Khamis on the AEC contract since March 2009, and I have experienced no problems with AEC.

1. Always been paid at the end of the month on time.
2. IL paid on time.
3. No arguments about vacation/sick time off
4. Stable work environments
5. Shuttles to and from King Khalid, never late, always on time.
6. Compound could be better, but it's fuckin' Saudi Arabia for Christs Sake.

What do you expect?? Nobody comes over here for the scenery or for the enjoyment of the job. You come out here for 1 reason $$$$$. If you come out here for any other reason, move on.

Are the Saudi's lazy?? Yup. Do they give a sh*t about maintenance?? Nope. Is it amazing everytime I see an F15 take off??? Yup.

This is my work hours:

0700-0800 - Breakfast at the snack bar with about 30 other contractors
0800-1100 - "Work"
1100-1230 - Lunch
1230-1430 - "Work"

I'm back at the compound and in my apartment by 1500 everyday.

With 6 weeks paid vacation (30 days personal, 2 weeks Ramadan Eid/Hajj) + Saudi National Day...come on.

REALLY?? How can you complain?? As long as AEC meets their contractual obligations on pay/lodging/transportation/vacation you really can't complain. Just keep your head low, show your face to RSAF Management and you are good to go.

Also, alcohol is a problem down here in Khamis, if you can control yourself, it shouldn't be a problem.

Is it perfect??? Nope. But seriously...what do you expect??

If you signed a contract to work out here, and you signed it with the pay on your contract, you have no right to bitch about it. Stay out of situations that would require your name to go on that aircraft to be MC. Simple as that. Pick and chose your battles, don't make waves with the RSAF. If you want to, at least wait a few months after your arrival.

Now, those that have experience problems, sh*t happens. Even in large corporations this kinda crap happens. I've heard horror stories about MDC and Boeing about similar sh*t happening. The Saudi's just suck at making decisions and will always tell you "bookara inshalla", well, stay on them. The effort on your part and being a pain in the a$$ on theirs, will make them do their job, JUST to get you out of their face.

*Dons flame suit*

Rumor has it, that AEC will not be hiring anybody after 15Dec2009 because they will be in their 3rd and final year of the contract with the RSAF. There is no way you could be out here before then and sign the contract (if the rumor is true). Signing the offer letter doesn't count, since your contract start date would be probably after the beginning of the New Year, but I'll dig around.

Try:

www.aviationrecruiting.com
www.orioninternational.com (who got me placed).

I do not know current availability of positions, but I'm sure there must be critical jobs that they need to fill, even with the possible hiring freeze.

It also depends on what job you are doing, your previous AFSC in the USAF, discharge characterization, and your current skill level. Exceptions from what I've seen, can be made. Again, all depends on how desperate AEC is at filling a position. Any position they don't keep filled, they have to pay back the RSAF that money.

Well you were/are in Khamis. I was in Dhahran. I'm glad you guys in Khamis have had such luck, but over at Dhahran the whole problem was AEC not fullfilling their contract at every turn. Maybe you had far better supervision than we did but when you have people like we had in HR and other supervisory areas things just don't work. Obligations on pay/lodging/transportation/vacation etc were exactly the things that AEC failed miserably at in Dhahran.

It is in its final closing months of the AEC / ATTI empire. The Liars and cheaters will soon all be gone. Let hope that the next company will be better; That maybe they will be more honest and open about issues. This current company has been feeding us lies from the beginning and will be to the bitter end. The management has that worried look on their faces while gulping down that hot cup of chai. They know their days are numbered.

If you are going to Khamis plan on being screwed with! The management is Saudi's. The head American when I was there was spineless and would screw the other Americans in a heartbeat! The Money is not worth going really! The Apartments are okay, not as good as when we had the trailers and villas. There are a few Good Saudi's there, But for the most part they are dumber then dirt. There are a few really Good Americans there but then there are a lot of P.O.S.'s
Do not plan on getting your 30 days paid sick leave...... You cannot use it even when you are sick........ Others ruined that for everyone.
If you are wanting money look into Battlespace.com. I guess they pay very well for the four month tour in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Ditto Agree with the above statement.
If you go to ANY Base inside the Majic Kingdown this is what happens when you have a Saudi as manager of a company. Now Thats Any Company including those that are not in the Defense Industry. Just Look at the poor souls that work for Zahran making very little money maybe 300 Sr a month. They end up selling sodas and water and sandwhiches and washing cars to make up for the loss.

In regards to your comment about the "sick days", this is a fallacy. You can't complain about the company not allowing sick days when there are MORE than a handful of contractors taking advantage of "sick days". Contractor would call in "sick" then be spotted at the souks f*cking off shopping, and rumor has it, this happened on multiple occasions. So the Head American made a decision and it was backed up by the AEC management. Can't blame the company.

2nd situation was the compound doctor was being "paid" for signing sick days (even for not being sic), so the company said you had to goto the hospital to get 2 days off at a time.

Can't blame the company, but the dumba$$ employees that were f*cking it up for the rest of everybody else. I was actually sick twice, and instead of going through the hassle of the hospital, I notified my RSAF management and they took care of it for me. Its all about how you go about things.

I am in no way cheering AEC and their decisions, however, play devils advocate and listen to the contractors that have been on the contract since before AEC and they will tell you that history prevails in this situation.

To anybody that considers this contract: Decide on what you want $ or "other crap". Take opinions (even my own) with a grain of salt. I was an "easy employee", did my job, stayed out of trouble and it worked out for me. If you are a drunkard, cause problems for the RSAF, cause problems on the compound, your experience will be different. As 2 previous co-workers found out a month ago when they beat up a Filipina on the compound.
