Congratulations on your retirement!!! I've seen his website...always lots of things on the 614th...not much out there on us Squids.

Hey, I was a Squid crewchief from 1985 to 1989. I worked with PointyHead :-). Congrats as well on the retirement there Larry!!!
I just wanted to make another plug for the website, as Eric mentioned the site is lean in all squadron areas (especially the fighter squadrons), if anyone has anything as far as pictures of any kind of documents, please pass them along and I will get them up on the site. :D

Regards

John Lanier

I was a Squid from '83 to '86. Was a flight chief for about six months then rudely turned into a Pro Super one morning by SMSgt "Hollywood" Holloway. Did the last WTD with our F-4s at the Lik the second week I was in Spain and excepted our first F-16s 18 months later. That was one great tour, though. Did six trips to the Lik; kinda got use to Adana-kabobs.
I was just in Spain this past October. Madrid and the surrounding area has changed dramatically. I had a difficult time recognizing some of the old haunts. The traffic is ten-times worse than I remembered, too!

Who would have thought that the traffic could have actually gotten worse in Madrid... I was based at TJ from '89-91 in EMS / Phase. Worked the 613th dock for my time there, but made both of my deployments (Aviano and Doha) with the 614th.

TJ was a great experience and a great base. Incredible memories, from Madrid to Alcala, to Guadalajara to... (and I'm sure that a lot of the things that I don't remember were even better - yes, there were some 'blurry' times as well...)
