Hello All,

Allthough concerning the Juvats, it is a little off topic!! Sorry - but can any of You tell me when the Juvats started their HARM oerations on the Block-30s. I know the planes had the capability from the start, but dud You fly this mission from day one of Block-30 operations in the 80 FS late 1980s?? My files and pictures indicates that it happened at that time the 3 WG at Clark AB moved to Elmendorf AFB and lost their F-4Gs. Any comments are VERY welcome!!

When I was at the Kun in 94, our Block 0's were playing with HARMs, but just like in the desert it relied on IDM and an actual Harm targeting system on another jet or liaison Command and Control platform. It was also a rare configuration.

I was also an F-4E/G Crew Chief at Clark (88-89) and remember the HARM hand-off set up between the F-4G's and Block 30 F-16's, just as per D.S.

Unless I have the wrong QA guy in mind, the only time any of you QA guys cut us any slack was when you were sitting in your office. I dont really remember names but there was one "cool" QA guy. Maybe your it, I forget names but not faces.

Yes 366 had its moments as "The hog" but it treated us alot better than some of those old block 30's we worked on.

Bear it proudly

Honor Norton's Nickel,

You will always be a Juvat,

Was at the Kun form Sept '83 to '84 as a two-striper.... 80th "B-Shop", tool crib, debreif, and any other job nobody else wanted. Two TDY's to the PI, one to Okinowa to rescue a broke jet... Got "stuck" in Hawaii taking a hop on my way back from my mid-tour... the C-5 guys told us they'd keep us on the manifest until the parts came in.... stayed at the Hale Koa (military hotel on Waikiki) called base OPS in the morning for 3 days in a row, then the parts came in....and back to the Kun

Had orders to Osan when I punched out in '92, sometimes wonder if I should have done the OCS thing instead...... but by then I was pushing 30, so they would have probably stuck me in a hole in the ground in Montana watching missiles, didn't turn out too badly, I still get to work on airplanes anytime I want to....

I was at the Kun in 81 to 82 in the initial cadre to set up the F-16 program and prep and ship out the F-4s. I was in the Armament shop working in the supply part of the shop and later in the AME building. And I still say i was never in the "ville", damn I wish I had taken pictures from that place. I have some, but not many from the Armament shop.

I recently met Col Bobby Kan at Eglin AFB. I believe he was a Juvat way back in the day. He had a politically incorrect "Headhunter" patch on his coat - you can just see it in the picture.

He's looking good, just had his 78th birthday.

He had a lot of good stories about his F-4 days.

Here's a picture of me and the man....

I was there 84-85 with the Juvats. That was when there was only 2 squadrons though. Quite a culture shock from the good ole USA. Spent many a night in "A" town. Ha Even had a kid we called the Mayor...real newbie.
