Olgo,

My dad was A1C Lewis Clanin and he crewed Thuds at Yokota with the Juvats btw '65-'67. 6'3", skinny, and lots of black hair back then. He got the nickname Stretch because he could reach a filter called the Iron Maiden. He has pictures of the rotations to Osan to sit alert with nukes.

Panton times 2....90-91 and 2000-2001. Avionics the first time, Spec Flt Chief and Pro Super the last. Also had a blast running the bar with Robin the second time around. Great times!!!

Was at the Kun form Sept '83 to '84 as a two-striper.... 80th "B-Shop", tool crib, debreif, and any other job nobody else wanted. Two TDY's to the PI, one to Okinowa to rescue a broke jet... Got "stuck" in Hawaii taking a hop on my way back from my mid-tour... the C-5 guys told us they'd keep us on the manifest until the parts came in.... stayed at the Hale Koa (military hotel on Waikiki) called base OPS in the morning for 3 days in a row, then the parts came in....and back to the Kun

Had orders to Osan when I punched out in '92, sometimes wonder if I should have done the OCS thing instead...... but by then I was pushing 30, so they would have probably stuck me in a hole in the ground in Montana watching missiles, didn't turn out too badly, I still get to work on airplanes anytime I want to....

I was at the Kun in 81 to 82 in the initial cadre to set up the F-16 program and prep and ship out the F-4s. I was in the Armament shop working in the supply part of the shop and later in the AME building. And I still say i was never in the "ville", damn I wish I had taken pictures from that place. I have some, but not many from the Armament shop.
