Hi all I'm mainly an A-10 guy but after working the F-16 for over 7 years here at the Hill Depot I figured it was time to join here. Most likely I will not be posting much but will be lurking in the background. If anyone does have any A-10 question I may be able to help there, here's my A-10 website...

Hello, Got any patches from your time on the A-10 and the F-16?

I can only assume that its true that when the A-10 fires its gun the recoil is so much that if he doesn't let off of the trigger it will stop the plane in midair and it will fall out of the sky?!?

I've actually had several people, whom I thought were smarter than that, tell me this is the case, haha.

As I'm sure you know this is not true. The recoil of the GAU-8A is equal to loosing one engine but, the entire A-10 load will fire in just under 12 seconds. I guess if you were low on airspeed, in a climb, and fired a full load it "could" stall the aircraft out but, you would really have to try to do it.

Welcome, don't feel the least bit bad about being an A-10 guy... amazing airplane and I think its every bit as beautiful as any other pointy nose jet. Ask any grunt in the AOR and they'll most likely say they'd take a hawg overhead over faster fighters any day.

But, the fact that the airspeed indicator is a calender, and it gets bird strikes from the rear.... I kid, I kid.
