Does that mean that most of the numbers on wikipedia & elsewhere are incorrect, from the pre-SWAT AA-1 variant?

And the real weight is about 28044 lbs / 12.7 tonnes for A-model instead of the ~29300 lbs/13.3 tonnes?

based on what I am seeing.... it looks like it! and that is WITH two AMRAAMs

The FY2016 DOT&E report states that the empty weight of the F-35A, for the purpose of contract specification compliance, was 28,999lb, as measured using AF-72, a Lot 7 aircraft. Estimates of that time said that Lot 10 and later would gain between 120-140lb due to new EW equipment, meaning that the jet's empty weight would be about 29,129lb +/- 10lb.

Does 29129 pounds include 2 missiles?

I think Wikipedia's data contains 2 AMRAAM missiles and gun rounds

I think there is a lot of thinking and not much actual searching - defining with URLs actual facts about the F-35 & AA-1.

Attached is the footnote 81 referenced at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_ ... ghtning_II
"...The F-35 is much heavier than the lightweight fighters it replaces, the lightest variant has an empty weight of 29,300 lb (13,300 kg); much of the weight can be attributed to the internal weapons bays and the extensive avionics carried.[81]"

WHY would an EMPTY F-35 have two missiles? YOU did not give a reference earlier about 'two missiles' at WickedPedia.

It seems like wikipedia just used the empty weight from LM's fast facts or something, which is technically not wrong, but it's more of a weight limit than actual empty weight which can change depending on Block and upgrades.

Also wikipedia statement that F-35 is much heavier than lightweight fighters is also technically not wrong and even sort of justifies it with saying internal weapons and avionics.
