This is there answer:
So, apparently the delivery of Block 3F, the End of SDD, and three services declaring IOC means NOTHING.
That and in a nod to "it takes a village", individual users cannot be trusted to determine if it meets their needs as the whole JPO has to agree.
Any bets as to their excuse after IOT&E is done?
The F-35 hasn't completed anything significant and won't do so until it completes initial operational test and evaluation, a joint program (US, UK, Netherlands and Australia) to determine if the JSF satisfies operational requirements.

- Look how long it took.
- Look how many F-16s / F-18s / Rafales / EFs could have been purchased with the development dollars alone.
- It still can't do ... < insert X > ...
- It carries a HUGE amount of gas, but can only go HOW far?
- Trump likes it... therefore is MUST suck!
- It lost to an F-16 (!) in a dogfight! (might as well recycle the old sh*t)
- EOTS is obsolete... just look at what pod XYZ can do!
- It still only carries 181 rounds! And it's gun is a popgun compared to the A-10's gun!
Take your pick.
Take an F-16, stir in A-7, dollop of F-117, gob of F-22, dash of F/A-18, sprinkle with AV-8B, stir well + bake. Whaddya get? F-35.

"You could do that, but it would be wrong."
....so in less than 1yr. Israel has modified software and hardware in their 9 F-35I, integrated their Israeli weapons, trained their pilots and maintenance/ supply/ support systems and declared them operational.
...doesn't seem to be many "problems" that are to be discovered by the US IOT&E efforts to begin next year!
Congrats to the Israelis!

The Israeli's seem very impressed by it. And they're buying more, which is a great sign.
I suppose they'll use it in combat first, may already have. Can't wait for the first air to air engagements...

We know now that for a while Israeli F-35s have been used against ISIS and Iranian backed groups in Syria. The IDF has been tight lipped about how exactly their F-35s are being used. An interesting article and photo of Israeli F-35s in action

In general "bulgarianmilitary.com" isn't considered a credible source.....
