Also check out this article. I guess posters from defense.pk caught a whiff of it and now they're over their defending their aircraft...

Unrelated, I noticed that there are some jokers in the comments who seem to think that the sole mission of the A-10 is to carry around its gun.

Really? The only part of a JF-17 that is common with the F-35 is the ejection seat! Both use variants of the Martin-Baker Mk 16 ejection seats.

The JF-17 is a decent enough aircraft, but I doubt it has the refined avionics of the F-35, or even the F/A-50. The F-35 has a mind-blowing level of situational awareness for the pilot that is not found on other aircraft. Even if a F/A-50 was fitted with EODAS, AESA etc. without the sensor fusion and integrated avionics package, the jet wouldn't achieve the same potential as the F-35.

I got an idea...... If the goal for the A-10 mafia is to deliver 30mm rounds and blow s%#t up, why not grab some Israeli A-4 Skyhawk jets? The Israeli ones flew with 30mm cannons, that although not as powerful as the A-10, could still do major damage to armored vehicles on the ground. Newer A-4s (Draken A-4K Kahu, A-4AR etc.) can carry the AGM-65 Maverick etc.

I'm not an A-4 expert, but one reason why the A-4 is such a great jet is that its structurally strong, another reason is that its relatively cheap to purchase and maintain. There are stories of A-4 pilots getting major damage to the wing, and still keep on flying. Some of the Israeli A-4s actually took damage to the tailpipe and still made it back to base. Doubt a JF-17 has that kind of combat survivability.

I remember a story about an A-4 striking the round-out (ramp strike) and making a successful landing afterwards. Has a JF-17 ever done an emergency landing with failed undercarriage? My guess is the JF-17 pilot would almost certainly have to join the Martin-Baker tie club.

Have LM and the JPO been holding back on us?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... guard-f-35

“Amazing job,” Trump said then. “So amazing we are ordering hundreds of millions of dollars of new airplanes for the air force, especially the F-35. You like the F-35? ... You can’t see it. You literally can’t see it. It’s hard to fight a plane you can’t see.”

“They said: ‘Well, it wins every time because the enemy cannot see it, even if it’s right next to it, it can’t see it,’” Trump said.

REEEEEEE!!!!.... Linking to the guardian!!!! REEEEEEEE!!!

Anyways, my belief is that cheeto Benito speaks extremely metaphorically. Theoretically, the enemy can not pick the f-35 up on radar if the two are side by side. Theoretically, when he says invisible, he could mean very low observable. After all, what is invisible to some things is not to others. Theoretically, he could be babbling like a retarded monkey. So many theories.....

Lettuce just be thankful on this glorious thanksgiving and relish the fact that he doesn't hate the plane.

He's not completely pointed in the wrong direction though, emissions management is more a thing than ever.

But yeah, a HARM? That's a hot one.

The Arrow Cult sure do make canadians look silly.

Harms have fallen out of favor for the most part as well FYI

We have had IRST since the 1960s as well. It's never supplanted radar and became a novelty for a good while there

Yeah, my reply was as follows...

PlayLoud wrote:First, the HARM is an air-to-surface weapon. Second, even if it could kill an airborne target, it wouldn't lock on "up his a$$", as the radar is in front of the jet. Also, why would you need a radar for "EW like electronic stealth and other forms of jamming" if nobody is going to use their radar.

The best part was the idiot wrote a whole dissertation on aerial warfare, which literally was completely made up and demonstrated more ignorance than understanding.

He also demonstrated that he wasn't aware of the home on jam mode in the AIM-120.
